BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Startup Lloydminster is passionate about developing local talent, diversification, and innovation. We work with entrepreneurs and innovative business owners to provide them with the tools they need to start, learn, grow, and thrive. We believe in collaboration and fostering positive partnerships with like-minded organizations to maximize the support available to build the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Startup Lloydminster helps position Lloydminster and the surrounding region as responsive to entrepreneurial opportunities and delivers timely, professional, and solution-based approaches for entrepreneurial economic development. Through flagship events, digital programs, and business development efforts, Startup Lloydminster:
Is the voice of entrepreneurs across the region
Creates, connects and supports vibrant startup communities
Connects entrepreneurs to support to advance their ventures
Fuels a culture of entrepreneurship
Positions Lloydminster as a leader in entrepreneurship bi-provincially

BOARD REQUIREMENTS
Meet bi-monthly for approximately an hour and a half (1.5) with one (1) hour of preparation beforehand (3 - 4 hours/month)
Sit on at least one committee; these committees meet the opposite month of the board meetings, as needed
Participant in the Annual General Meeting held annually in March
Conflict of Interest Declaration
Attend Startup Lloydminster events throughout the year
MEMBERS & EXECUTIVE POSITIONS
Board of Directors comprised of a minimum of seven (7) and a maximum of twelve (12) persons
Following the Annual General Meeting (or as often as required) the Board elects a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer or Secretary-Treasurer from its members
One person may hold more than one office
TERM
Directors are elected for a three (3) year term. They are eligible for re-election for an additional three (3) year term (2 terms maximum)

Startup Lloydminster has a number of committees to support the success of the Board including:

Governance Committee
Finance Committee
Each committee has its own terms of reference, duties and goals to work towards throughout the year. From time to time, the Board may establish other committees in the best interests of the Board.
